All students will attend student orientation scheduled on Monday and Tuesday afternoons before beginning their hours with their supervisor. All students will also have self-paced training modules to complete depending on the nature of the student. These can range in topics from HIPAA Privacy & Security Awareness to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Student placements at Skyline Academy will require additional trainings such as CPR, First Aid and AED certification to be completed within the first 90 days of student orientation.

The majority of student placements last 9 to 12 months, or follow the typical school year schedule. Most managers are flexible on start and end dates based on your program, but require at least a 9 month commitment.

We encourage you to keep an eye on our student placements page in the meantime. Our student placements are quite competitive, we recommend keeping an eye on the webpage and applying as quickly as possible.

An option that we recommend to students is to consider applying for our paid positions so that you can gain first-hand experience within WellPower and get to know some of the staff members. Specifically, any of the Residential Counselor roles are a good position to consider as they only require students to be working towards a bachelor’s degree and they are typically part-time positions on evenings and weekends.
