Dear Partners in Well-Being,
The murder of George Floyd and the other recent murders of Black men and women have affected all of us in different ways. These events have landed hardest in the Black community and demonstrate how anti-Black racism runs throughout our society.
The WellPower is committed to ending discrimination and racism. We must all use our individual and collective power to address these issues and to leverage our power to stop racism in our community.
We are committed to engaging in conversations across the community to effect further change. And we know that discussion and support for one another is not enough. Our conversations must lead to meaningful action.
We commit to the following actions to help end racism in the community:
- Strengthening our recruitment and retention efforts of Black clinicians.
- Enhancing our vendor relationships with Black and minority-owned businesses.
- Hosting and engaging in community forums with the Black community.
- Supporting Black-owned organizations advancing social justice.
- Expanding and deepening partnerships with organizations focused on the health of the Black community.
- Advocating for legislation and policies that advance equity.
Racial profiling and police brutality are two components of white supremacy that have led to the current moment. The WellPower has relationships with the Denver police and criminal justice system aimed at keeping people with mental illness from having unjust interactions with police. We are committed to leveraging those relationships to fight racism.

Estamos comprometidos a potenciar esas relaciones para luchar contra el racismo.
